Environment

Principle 7
Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle 8
Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

Principle 9
Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

As a professional services firm, environmental concerns are not core to the business of DTT‘s member firms. However, member firms recognize that environmental management programs are important and are committed to minimizing any negative impacts that their activities may have on the environment. As a precautionary approach, DTT promotes environmental responsibility by complying with local environmental laws in the countries where member firms operate. DTT also encourages member firms to go beyond such regulation whenever possible. By recycling waste, managing energy/paper consumption, and investing in the latest technology to avoid unnecessary travel, member firms are able to make a positive contribution to the environment.

While DTT has no formal tracking system in place to collect environmental performance data, a survey among member firms has shown that individual member firms have taken initiatives to monitor, manage and report on their environmental impacts and activities.
