This year, a subsidiary of the Deloitte member firm in Japan, Tohmatsu Evaluation and Certification Oranization (TECO), was accredited as a Designated Operational Entity under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The CDM’s mandate includes assisting developing countries in achieving sustainable development, and the accreditation allows TECO to support clients’ efforts to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions under the Kyoto Protocol.
