Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2007Boao, China, April 20-22, 2007 |
Inaugurated in February 2001, the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) is a non-government, non-profit international organization that aims to bring together over 1,300 government, business and academic leaders from Asia and other continents to share their views on the most pressing issues in the Asian region and the world at large.
The Forum is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries even closer to their development goals and more specifically their goals for sustainable economic, social and environmental development.
In light of the landscape being formed, this year's Annual Conference focused more on the business agenda and how companies in Asia might address these new issues for the mutual benefit of their enterprises and the Asian people.
Key business issues which discussed during the Annual Conference included:
-
Economic fundamentals for sustainable growth (such as Asian economic integration and the impact of China, India and Japan)
-
The impact of development and innovations in key industries (such as energy and resources, telecommunications and technology, the financial services sector and the emerging creative industries)
