| Southern Africa | The Association for Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa has recognized Deloitte on four consecutive occasions (from 2006 to 2009) for having achieved the highest number of successful black candidates in the Final Qualifying Exam of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. This achievement is due to a sustained effort to train, mentor, and develop black professionals and helps to secure the continued diversity of the Southern Africa firm’s workforce. |

In addition, Deloitte continues to take center stage at high-profile global events and, as a UN Global Compact founding signatory, promotes principles of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
- In 2010, Deloitte participated in a panel discussion at an inaugural launch event of the UN/UNIFEM Global Compact “Women Empowerment Principles: Equality Means Business,” which were reviewed by UN Global Compact members.
- When the United Nations marked International Women’s Day 2009 with the “Advancing Women in the Global Marketplace” event DTTL’s Chief Diversity Officer James H. Wall presented insights into the Global Initiative for the Retention of Women (GROW). Learn more.
- As part of the United Nations’ World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development in 2009, DTTL recognized the contributions of its member firms' diverse people, cultures, and organizational expertise with a contribution to the United Nation’s “Doing Business in a Multicultural World: Challenges and Opportunities” brochure.
