Celebrating innovation and catalyzing idea-sharing
The Deloitte21 Challenge is designed to recognize and celebrate leading Deloitte21 programs from around the world that apply Deloitte member firms’ business skills to deliver scalable solutions that positively impact both local communities and the global economy. It reinforces Deloitte21’s common set of global outcomes and provides a strategic framework for member firms as they invest in local education and skills programs.
The Deloitte21 Challenge Grant is intended to support Deloitte member firms’ ongoing work with the selected organizations and to contribute to the long-term success of their programs. The Challenge propels Deloitte member firms to jointly develop strategic plans with the local education organizations supported. The plans outline how the organizations will take on a challenging issue that is aligned to Deloitte21, and respond by investing in an innovative, potentially transformative solution.
The recipients of the Deloitte21 Challenge 2011 Grant for Innovation were Pratham USA and INJAZ al-Arab (member of JA Worldwide). Deloitte United States is currently working with Pratham USA to create achievement centers that will increase access to secondary education and vocational skills for young women in India. Deloitte Middle East is working with INJAZ al-Arab in introducing the “Be Entrepreneurial” curriculum to high school and university students and launching a regional business plan competition. The goal is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among young Arab people.
