Deloitte United Kingdom’s effort to sponsor the 2012 London Olympic Games sparks the idea of creating the Deloitte Global Athletes’ Network, which is opening new doors with clients as the network taps into the athletic knowledge of 403 members from 44 different member firms to date, 12 of whom are former or current Olympians.

Deloitte United Kingdom’s Women’s Initiative (WIN) leader Emma Codd and Deloitte United States’ GE Global Deputy Lead Client Service Director Karen Tooley host the first WIN event in London exclusively developed for Deloitte member firm and GE women executives, where keynote speaker Cathy Benko, Vice Chairman and Chief Talent Officer for Deloitte United States, speaks about Mass Career Customization and the important roles women leaders play in establishing strong networks.
Deloitte remains at the forefront of “Shaping the post-crisis world,” by attending the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where global leaders gather to discuss the future of the financial markets, the challenges of sustainability, the importance of innovation, and the power of collective action to address the radically altered economy.

The Deloitte International Student Business Forumhosts 63 students from 20 countries at the IMD campus in Lausanne, Switzerland, where 94 percent of participating students say the forum was useful or very useful in helping them prepare for an international career.
As part of its comprehensive “Cleantech Initiative,” Deloitte Germany co-sponsors the first Product Carbon Footprint World Forum Summit in Berlin where more than 150 participants from 20 countries and more than 12,000 live-stream viewers gather to exchange ideas on creating an internationally-recognized method for measuring the greenhouse gas emissions of individual goods and services.

For the seventh year in a row, Deloitte Ireland is named one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland, according to a detailed assessment by the Great Place to Work Institute Ireland. Deloitte Ireland not only ranks in the top 10 but is also one of only three companies to achieve a special recognition award for receiving the accolade for seven years in a row, which also leads to its second year in the 100 Best Workplaces in Europe awards.
Two hundred Deloitte Spain assurance professionals participate in Deloitte Spain’s Masters in Auditing and Executive Development program, based on a collaborative effort with five educational institutions in Spain to provide a holistic experience for audit professionals to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
As a result of four consecutive top 10 placements on Training magazine’s annual list of Top 125 companies, Deloitte is inducted into the magazine’s Hall of Fame, being only one of six other companies to have received this acknowledgement.

DTT CEO Jim Quigley stresses the importance of being innovative in a time of uncertainty and encourages all 168,000 member firm professionals to contribute to this year’s Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Annual World Meeting through the use of the online collaboration tool D.Wiki, which was used to gather input on 11 important business issues facing Deloitte member firm clients.
The new DTT Global Corporate Responsibility Policy is unveiled, with the objective to underline the importance of corporate responsibility and create consistency among member firms.
Deloitte is recognized as the leader in size and scope of talent management consulting services among more than 20 human capital consultancy organizations by Kennedy’s new research report, Talent Management Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012: Key Trends, Profiles and Forecasts. The report recognizes Deloitte for its innovative and broad capability set, while spotlighting the “corporate lattice” and Mass Career Customization models.
Growth continues for Deloitte India, where headcount is now more than 11,500 people. Several initiatives were launched in FY09, many related to attracting talent, increasing market penetration, enhancing the brand, and upgrading infrastructure to a world-class standard, reflecting the intense focus and investment in this growing market.
Deloitte continues its commitment to developing talent with the launch of the Middle Market Business Advisor (MMBA) program—an innovative learning and development program for senior member firm professionals who serve mid-size and privately owned companies. The MMBA focuses on creating "business minds"—professionals with broader business skills and perspectives who deliver holistic solutions to help drive their clients’ businesses forward. The MMBA program is being implemented by DTT member firms.
