two boatsDeloitte's commitment to the public interest goes back to the origins of our organization. Deloitte's leaders have encouraged and empowered the organization's people to act with integrity and long-term vision ever since. Today the Deloitte Shared Values and Ethical Principles define the way business is done in every member firm across the world.

The DTT global corporate responsibility policy helps ensure that member firms pursue a common agenda for contributing to public policy, business, and society. The member firms enact this agenda through investments in their people, advice and services to clients, environmentally sustainable operations, and commitment to their local communities and the wider society.

Deloitte's investments in the community are driven by the idea that mobilizing the intellectual capital of the people of Deloitte member firms makes the greatest social impact and advances key business goals. Around the world member firms invest in education and skills building. They encourage their people to use their knowledge and talents to scale up programs that help underserved young people to develop 21st-century skills.

Deloitte member firms around the world take a serious, business-minded approach to climate change and other issues in environmental protection. The member firms are working to adopt more environmentally sustainable practices and to inspire their people to lighten their ecological footprints at work. In addition, Deloitte member firms are tackling environmental problems through their work in the marketplace.

The Deloitte organization has long been at the forefront in collaborating with other businesses to advance solutions to shared problems and to contribute to the open discussion of business's role in society. This activity includes DTT's early and ongoing involvement in multilateral organizations such as the World Economic Forum, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and UN Global Compact.
