Intangible Thinking - Updating Chapter VI, the very latest position

Following the publication of Chapter IX to the OECD Guidelines, Transfer Pricing aspects of Business Restructurings, the Working Party turned their attention to rewriting Chapter VI, Special Considerations for Intangible Property. A draft revision was published for comment on 6 June 2012 with comments requested by 14 September 2012 and the Working Party is reconvening on 12-14 November 2012 for further discussions. While the June release was generally received well, there were still a number of worrying, inconclusive or inconsistent aspects and it is hoped that further progress will be made at this session.

Our November transfer pricing seminar will include an overview of the approach set out in the draft document, our thoughts and comments on the approach and an update on the discussions from the November OECD meeting. This will be an extremely current update on a very topical area with two members of our transfer pricing team that are attending the OECD discussions participating in the panel discussion.
