International Social Security
Deloitte's International Social Security (ISS) team is headquartered in London and is a market leader in the provision of social security services. The UK team comprises 18 professionals, some of whom have previous experience working for the UK’s social security authorities.
The London ISS team is at the hub of an established international network with more than 60 professionals in 25 countries. In the EU, as well as in the partner led UK team, there are dedicated professionals in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. In addition, there is at least one designated contact in all other EU countries.
The ISS network of professionals has significant experience of creating and deploying country or region specific solutions, which both manage costs and increase management efficiency. It can advise on the social security affairs of senior or career assignees, which can deliver savings for the company and maximise the benefits available to the individual. Issue and trends
The costs, administration and management of social security related services for employers with international mobile workers is an area that is often overlooked or undermanaged. This can lead to serious non-compliance issues, unnecessary costs, the loss of benefit entitlements for mobile workers and legal exposures for the employer. The EU legislation introduced in May 2010 has had a significant impact on the employers of individuals working across borders, with employees working regularly in more than one EU state particularly impacted by the rule changes.
