2013 saw the introduction of new disclosure requirements and the binding vote on remuneration policy. This represents the biggest change in the reporting of remuneration since the regulations first came into effect in 2002.
There is no doubting the extra workload these regulations will create for all companies in the short term; but we believe that for the most part the disclosure requirements provide an opportunity and should encourage remuneration committees to review and update existing arrangements and policies, to ensure they balance the commercial needs with investor expectations. We look forward to working with many of you over the coming months to meet this challenge.
