Background
The use of asset backed funding contributions to address pension scheme deficits has increased in both popularity and application over recent years. Since 2010, around £3.4bn of asset backed funding structures have been implemented using a variety of asset classes, including property, brand and receivables.
New legislation set out in the Finance Act 2012 has changed the landscape of asset backed funding and our report considers:
