 Alan Macpherson is a partner in our UK Tax management consulting group. He advises clients on all aspects of tax risk, strategy and compliance and his recent experience includes acting as global engagement partner for one of the largest global tax outsourcing partnerships ever implemented. He and the team have worked with most of the 20 largest UK groups on tax risk and strategy, and Alan served on the group drafting the recently published SAO guidance notes. He has also worked with clients on a wide range of systems and transformation projects, including the implementation of tax accounting and compliance technology, and where clients are working to manage taxes in SAP and other ERP platforms.

Albert Fleming

 Albert Fleming is a partner in the Tax management consulting group. He has 18 years’ experience in advising on and implementing information technology solutions for tax departments. Albert specialises in the design and implementation of compliance and reporting solutions, workflow and automation systems for the tax department and has been closely involved in the architecture and delivery of all the technology solutions offered by our Tax management consulting team.

Andy Gwyther

 Andy Gwyther is a partner in the Tax management consulting group. He has 14 years’ corporate tax experience focusing mainly in the financial services sector. Andy works closely with tax specialists to incorporate advice into the strategy and operations of clients’ organisations. Key recent client engagements have included implementation of best-in-class tax compliance and reporting systems for a large UK retail bank, including corporate tax, life tax and VAT for its banking and insurance businesses. He has also helped to develop a new tax strategy, systems and operations post-merger for a major insurance group. This achieved full integration of legacy businesses including delivery of an automated tax reporting and compliance process to manage the first year-end. In addition he has helped to develop the tax operating model for a large bank as part of a strategic review of finance, involving alignment of resources to the tax strategy, cost reduction, tax and ERP integration and automated tax reporting.

 Martin Saluveer is a partner in the Tax management consulting group and has 20 years’ international tax experience. He specialises in companies in the energy, infrastructure and utilities area. He has advised a vast range of clients on their international tax issues, across the energy value chain. His clients include major utilities, supermajors, national energy companies, commodity traders, investment banks and funds. His areas of technical tax specialisation include cross border tax planning, international M&A and transactions advice, energy specific issues including E&P, midstream and downstream, transfer pricing for the energy and resources business, tax compliance and tax accounting outsourcing solutions.

 Conrad Young is a partner in the Tax management consulting group and has 25 years experience working in tax. The principal area of Conrad's practice has been the UK and international taxation of multi-national groups and technology and process improvement for tax compliance and reporting.

Conrad leads Deloitte’s European Tax Management Consulting business and is on the Deloitte UK Tax Executive with responsibility for Business Strategy.

 Pippa Booth is a partner in the Tax management consulting group. She has strong FAS 109 and IFRS tax accounting experience with multinational clients and prepares FAS 109 provisions for UK subsidiaries for their US parent reporting. She also project manages the global tax reporting outsourcing for a large multinational business covering 56 territories in Europe, Asia, Africa and the US. Pippa assists local Deloitte offices around the world with tax accounting technical and process specific issues, reviewing tax provisioning submissions and reporting back to the client as well as the associated governance related to the project administered by the client’s shared service centre. She leads the FAS 109 and IAS 12 technical training for Deloitte in the UK and for clients and has also run a 2 day FAS 109 and FIN 48 training session for the European division of a major US listed group.

Pippa also leads the Deloitte UK and EMEA Tax Accounting Competency groups, sits on the Tax Advisory Panel for the Accounting Standards Board and has written articles and publications relating to tax accounting and Uncertain Tax Positions covering both US GAAP and IFRS issues.

 Peter Gurr is a director in the Tax management consulting group with 11 years’ experience advising clients on tax compliance and advisory projects, specialising in companies in the energy, infrastructure and utilities area. Peter has advised clients in a number of areas including big ticket outsourcing, general advisory, complex transactions and structuring work. He has advised on a range of transactions in the UK and international sectors.

 Mark Kennedy is a director in the Tax management consulting group, specialising in tax risk management and helping clients to improve the way they identify, evaluate, manage and report tax risk. His most significant recent projects have involved helping clients to develop and sustain improved organisational and control frameworks, encompassing their people, policies, processes and systems, to help minimise the likelihood of unexpected tax costs and reputational damage. Mark is a member of the core team developing Deloitte’s response to the new Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) legislation and is advising many clients on how best to develop sustainable compliance models. He has also represented Deloitte in discussions with HMRC on this and other legislation.

Mark has experience of working with clients from a wide-range of industries but has a particular focus on the financial services and energy sectors. Mark has recently completed a secondment to a FTSE100 UK plc as their interim head of corporate tax.

 Rachel Taylor is a director in the Tax management consulting group, with 15 years’ tax experience. She specialises in tax technology (including all major ERP systems) and the tax aspects of finance transformation programmes. She has extensive industry experience having worked in the Group Tax departments of two large international banks and also as Head of Tax for a UK television broadcaster. Rachel advises clients across a range of industries and has just completed 18 months as UK Tax Lead on a major finance transformation programme for one of the world’s largest retail groups that had SAP at its core.

 David Wright is a director in the Tax management consulting group with 14 years’ experience within the tax technology field. He works with a range of FTSE 100 and Global 1000 in-house tax departments providing technology and process consulting services. David’s experience includes leading the implementation of large, multinational tax technology projects including bespoke technology builds. He specialises in process improvement, process management and document management solutions and the delivery of technology and transition for global compliance outsourcing projects. David’s other experience includes electronic filing and iXBRL requirements in the UK.
