Indirect Tax Dispute Resolution and Litigation

Indirect Tax in the UK is a particularly litigious area and there have been over 20,000 cases heard by the Tribunal and the courts in the UK since the tax was introduced in 1973. If you have a dispute with HMRC our team will first help you to try to resolve it without recourse to litigation. If that is not possible our team can assist you throughout the appeal process, with support both before and after, as well as representing you at the Tax Tribunal.

Our award winning team has extensive experience across all industry sectors, providing advice in relation to:

  • Disputes with HMRC across all Indirect Taxes;
  • Time limits and assessments;
  • Penalties and interest;
  • Supply chain management;
  • Contract review;
  • Appeals to the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal;
  • Appeals to the higher courts including the Court of Justice of the European Union (formerly known as the European Court of Justice).
