Angus Pollock is a partner in Forensic and Dispute Services practice. He joined Deloitte in 1984 and was admitted to the partnership in 1997. Since 1989 Angus has advised clients on dispute related matters. He has undertaken many accounting and factual investigations and has acted as advisory partner on many others. He has been instructed as an Independent Expert Accountant in legal proceedings on many occasions, in particular to quantify loss of profits and breaches of warranty, and has acted as an independent expert appointed by the parties to determine disputes in respect of completion accounts. He advises insurance companies and their appointed loss adjusters on business interruption losses arising from insured events. Angus has given expert evidence at hearings in the High Court, the ICC (International Court of Arbitration) and the County Court. |
Experience
- Performed an investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption at a European communications and technology conglomerate. Working together with external US counsel, the investigation focussed on a number of high risk country operations of the business. The findings of the investigation were presented in person to the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission; and
- Instructed to calculate the loss of profits arising from a breach of contract in proceedings arising out of a cigarette distribution agreement. The assignment required a detailed analysis of large volumes of disclosed documents. Angus gave evidence at trial in October 2007 (see Judgment of Mr Justice Christopher Clarke).
Qualifications
Angus graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1984 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
