Deloitte comments on corporate insolvency figures |
Lee Manning, reorganisations services partner at Deloitte, comments: “Today’s corporate insolvency figures show a marginal decline of 1% in the number of corporate insolvencies compared with the same period a year ago. Given the increased number of administrations this time last year, we might expect to see a consequent increase in liquidations. Clearly this is not happening as businesses are working through their administrations rather than going into liquidation.
“This is an encouraging sign, and is reflective of the trends we are seeing in administrations. Businesses are taking the right steps to address financial issues and as a result corporate failure is decreasing, albeit marginally.”
