The Deloitte CIO Survey 2013

Reconnect. Rebuild. Reimagine. Redeliver.

The Deloitte CIO Survey report presents the findings from our 2013 international survey, comprising the responses of over 700 CIOs and IT leaders across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia, and covering all major industry groups. While the results vary to a degree between regions and industries, what is striking is the consistency of issues CIOs are facing as they navigate their way through an ever-more challenging and fast-changing business environment. With rapid increases in the pace of business and technological change, multiplying business expectations, and shrinking technology adoption lifecycles, the role of the CIO as a trusted partner to the business has never been more important.

Kevin Walsh, Head of Technology, shares some of the major findings from the survey

Our report explores:

  • Business partnering – how are IT functions expected to deliver business value  and how far are they meeting these expectations?
  • Talent and capabilities – do CIOs have the right teams with the right capabilities to fulfil business needs?
  • Innovation – to what extent is innovation being driven by IT in business today and  where can CIOs add real business value through innovation-driving technologies?
  • CIO career – how satisfied are CIOs in their role today and where do they see their careers heading next?
