Keith leads Deloitte's Organisation Leadership practice and has 20 years' experience developing leaders. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2006, Keith was a partner at McKinsey 1993-2005 and led their European organisation design practice and their internal leadership development programme. He began his career at Shell in 1982 where he held a series of marketing and general management roles in New Zealand, Sweden, Cyprus and the UK. He regularly serves on ‘expert panels’ for government – e.g. service transformation, climate change. The Daily Telegraph listed him in May 2008 as the only consultant among the ‘100 most influential people in the public sector’.
Keith holds a LL.B (Scots Law) with first class honours from the University of Edinburgh and a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a non-executive director of The Tablet Publishing Company and of BuildAfrica, a NGO working with young people in Kenya and Uganda.
Key interests and recent projects
- Keith led the redesign of a central government department around core programmes and projects, including redesign of management processes and a major programme of cultural change;
- Keith worked closely with the chief executive and chairman of an independent waste management consultancy, to redesign and implement the top level structure to reflect the new regulatory and economic challenges;
- Keith led work on transforming business performance for a leading forensic science provider.
