Annual Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing Conference

Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, 28-29 September

Push the boundaries
Exploring the art of the possible
In 2011, one thing has been clear: shared services and outsourced centres are no longer simply about cost cutting. More and more companies are now demanding that their shared services or outsourced centres create value for the organisation beyond cost reduction. So what does that mean and how can it be achieved?

The 2011 Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) conference explored what’s possible in terms of shared services and outsourcing value creation. This year, we brought together shared services leaders from companies including Shell, BP, Bayer, The Coca-Cola Company, Daimler, Philips, Marks & Spencer, Deutsche Post, Novozymes, and Schneider Electric, to share some of the latest trends we’ve been observing in the market including:

  • How to combine shared services and outsourcing in a hybrid model
  • How shared services centres are moving both up the value chain within finance, and across the value chain into other functions such as HR and procurement
  • Why centres are moving away from a regional focus to a process-centric service delivery model, and how that is supporting continuous improvement.
  • How to drastically reduce the need for local finance heads by combining shared services with centres of excellence.

New this year: Industry breakout groups
For our 2011 conference, we were also pleased to introduce Industry Breakout Groups to help delegates build their own network in the shared services arena. These discussion-led forums enabled attendees to share ideas with industry peers tackling similar issues and operating in the same environment.

Presentations, photos and videos from this year’s conference coming soon!
