Mike is the Partner in charge of the Global Treasury and Capital Markets team based in London. His role includes acting as an audit partner on banking and capital markets and corporate treasury audit clients.
His recent relevant treasury and capital market advisory consulting experience includes:
Review of the treasury strategy of a FTSE100 leisure business;
- Review of controls of the equity derivatives business of a large investment bank;
Review of the treasury strategy, operations and controls of a retail banking business;
Controls review of the central treasury operation of a major UK insurance business;
Providing advice on the implementation of IFRS to many financial and corporate clients; and
- Providing accounting advice on structured transactions to investment banking and corporate clients.
Mike is a regular presenter at conferences on accounting issues and is co-author of Taxation and accounting for financial instruments published by IFR. Mike is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (MCT). He is also a member of ICAEW banking committee and sits on the financial instruments sub-committee that is responsible for drafting the Institute’s response to accounting standards published by the Accounting Standards Board or the International Accounting Standards Board. He also represents the ICAEW on the Banks working group of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE), the representative organisation for the accountancy profession in Europe.
