Software test assurance product card (PDF)- Area: Business & Technology Resilience
Background
Shockingly 7 out of 10 IT projects fail and the reasons for failure can often be attributed to poor test management. Organisations often struggle to attain the desired balance between test coverage and time to delivery. Additionally there are a number of common misconceptions about software testing which often impact the planning and delivery of testing.
We understand that testing is about providing an appropriate level of assurance for the risks involved. Instead of striving for perfection or opting for the cheapest option; businesses should find an appropriate balance between time, cost and quality based on the specific risks. Testing can be structured to focus on the highest priority issues and in our experience will normally find around 90% of the problems before reaching the point of diminishing returns.
