Corporate & Physical Security

Protecting infrastructure, people and process

In security, the challenge is to protect infrastructure people and process without restricting business activity. If the security function is fully integrated and aligned to business it can add value and competitive advantage. Part of the challenge is to understand the asymmetric nature of both terrorism and criminal threats in order to develop a holistic integrated strategy.

Deloitte recognises that the modern security environment demands a cohesive, business aligned security strategy that informs security structure, policy and process. One that uses a risk based methodology to deliver effective and proportionate security solutions, and that integrate through both technology and process. In addition to Security Strategy, Deloitte identifies and delivers in three core functional areas: Physical, Personnel and Information (hard copy information) across three operating levels, Strategic, Operational and individual.

  • Security Strategy: The maturity of an organisation's security strategy, structure, policy and process reflects its ability to respond to physical, personnel or information threats.
  • Physical Security: Our competence and experience spans a wide spectrum of security subjects enabling us to create bespoke programmes for specialist issues.
  • Personnel Security: We work with organisations to identify the ‘insider threat’ and to help them overcome the idea that, “it won’t happen in my backyard”.
  • Information Security (hard copy information): The identification of appropriate policy and procedures to protect the storage and distribution of hard copy documentation.
  • Global Risk Analysis: Bespoke reporting and forecasting on regional, national and local geopolitical and security risks to critical assets, recognising that a business’ characteristics determine risk exposure and internal risk appetite define controls.

Our risk methodology is based on industry best practice. We conduct strategic and operational risk assessments to identify threat, attractiveness, likelihood, vulnerability and impact.
