Controlling the risks around employee expenses

Companies are coming under increasing pressure to reconsider the way in which they incur, monitor and reimburse employee expenses for a number of reasons;

  • Corporation and Employment Tax
  • Fraud
  • Cost control
  • Ethics and governance

Audit Advisory and Tax have jointly conducted an employee expenses survey across a variety of businesses and industry sectors. Participants include Heads of Internal Audit and Chief Financial Officers of around 40 companies ranging from medium sized, private businesses to large FTSE-100 corporations. The results are designed to provide detailed insight into how your expense policy systems and compliance regime measure up to industry practice.

We have also developed an automated data analytics tool, which you can use to analyse expenses-related information. This survey is designed to help you assess whether your expenses policy is robust, well understood and enforced and whether your processes properly support the incurring, authorising, processing and reporting of expenses.
