Deloitte Audit Advisory wins Most Innovative Solution with its Bamboo App in 2012 CIR Business Continuity Awards
Deloitte Audit Advisory won the Most Innovative Solution award at the 2012 CIR Business Continuity Awards last night. The BambooTM smartphone application, the first of its kind, is revolutionising the way businesses handle disasters and crises by using employees’ mobile devices to store up-to-date management procedures and action-plans for when an incident is invoked.
Bamboo provides effective, swift and resilient response management, minimising the potential impact of a crisis as it unfolds. The user-friendly application is neither reliant on mobile network connectivity nor does it require a specific mobile platform or smartphone device, providing access no matter where you are located.
Speaking about the application, Rick Cudworth, head of resilience at Deloitte said: “We’re delighted that Bamboo has been recognised as the most innovative business continuity solution by CIR.
“This application is about embracing technology to mobilise an organisation, communicate effectively and ensure staff are safe. In the event of an incident occurring, people can use Bamboo’s custom-built messaging and alert system, locate their teams real-time, mobilise their response and recovery teams and have access to the very latest plans and actions - all from their handset.
“One of the best things about Bamboo is that the information is stored directly on a person’s handset and updated via push technology. This means staff will be able to access their individual plans regardless of their location. Businesses get back on their feet faster, employees know where their team mates are, and it all works in a common sense way.”
In addition to the real time benefits of the application, Bamboo enables auditable log tracking for post incident review and compliance reporting.
