Deloitte National Pension Seminars

17 December 2012

During February and March 2012 Deloitte will be hosting a series of pension seminars across the UK for pension fund and payroll managers, finance directors and HR directors.

From October this year, new Employers’ Duties will start to be phased in requiring employers to automatically enrol eligible employees into a Qualifying Scheme (QS) – a scheme which requires minimum contributions and benefits to be provided. The Duties will apply to the largest employers from October and by July 2013 will be extended to all employers with more than 3,000 staff. Smaller employers will follow later.

In order to comply with the Duties, employers will not only have to review and amend their pension arrangements, they will also need to review and restructure internal operations, including HR processes and payroll operations. Deloitte has extensive experience and an in-depth understanding of this sector; the Firm advised the Government on the development of the Duties and has worked on many large pensions, organisational and IT transformation projects.

The Deloitte seminars will provide the target audience with insight on the issues they will need to consider ahead of the new Employers’ Duties including:

  • Background of the Duties and latest changes;
  • How the Duties will affect businesses of all sizes;
  • How employers can control the increase in pension costs;
  • The changes required to HR and payroll operations; and
  • How Deloitte can assist employers in meeting the Duties.
