Background

Digital is revolutionising the technology, media and telecoms (TMT) sector, acting as a catalyst for change to existing business models and putting increased focus on Leadership to guide organisations through the change. This paper is the second in the ‘Digital Leadership’ series, which explores how TMT organisations can develop the agility to successfully navigate the digital transformation, developing the new skills and capabilities needed to thrive in the digital economy.

Key findings

The central challenge for Chief Executives and their management teams is in determining where to focus and what blend of approaches will enable them to successfully navigate the road out of recession and transform their organisations to keep pace with their customers.
This paper looks at four dimensions of leadership and identifies explicit actions for TMT leaders to improve leadership within their organisations in the digital age. If TMT organisations can develop leadership at all levels, the right people can take key decisions around business model and product innovation, and organisations will not only be able to address the financial crisis, but also to realise the opportunities it represents.
