Deloitte comments on multi-million pound future cities ‘catapult’ to be hosted in London |
12 March 2013
Chris Williams, Deloitte Economic Consulting partner, said: “This is great news for London. It should lead the world as a ‘smart city’, by developing a comprehensive and consistent plan, with effective property and infrastructure. This can be achieved by building on the Technology Strategy Board’s current initiatives and developing hubs such as iCity across London.
“We have a good opportunity to export what is learned from being the host of a new 'catapult' centre for smart city technologies to other global cities. This will lead to opportunities for British technology companies to further capitalise on London’s strength in other sectors. After the success of London 2012, the capital looks like the place to be.”
