On TV: perspectives on television in words and numbersOfficial Guide to the Edinburgh International TV Festival 2010 |
|
Background
On TV: perspectives on television in words and numbers is Deloitte’s fourth annual report on the current issues impacting the television sector. The in-depth research was based on interviews with senior industry executives and a detailed survey of the UK public designed by Deloitte and conducted by YouGov between 9th and 12th July 2010.
Key findings
Television has had a robust year. Both pay and free-to-air business models have performed well. Online television has proved more supportive than disruptive to broadcast television while social media has so far proven to be a powerful ally in raising awareness of television’s most compelling content. In this year’s Perspectives on television we provide essays in words and numbers on the ways in which television shows its strengths. Topics include:
- Television and social media: friends forever?
- Advertising on television, still the nation's favourite format
- Television and the election: was it television what hung it?
