Tim is responsible for Deloitte’s UK audit services to the THL industry and is sector leader for the Licensed Retail sector, which includes pubs and restaurants. He has over 20 years experience of providing external audit, internal audit, transaction support and risk consulting services to the sector, with particular experience in hotels, pubs and restaurants. He speaks at industry conferences and has worked on committees developing accounting standards for the sector.
External audit responsibilities include a number of domestic and international hotel groups, including Marriott International, Marriott Vacation Club, Orient Express Hotels, Travelodge, Hyatt and LRG Holdings, a venture which owns 65 InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels in the UK. He has also worked for a variety of Licensed Retail clients.
Tim’s due diligence experience includes responsibility for numerous transaction engagements for both private equity and corporate clients. Target businesses include Le Meridien Hotels, Hospitality Europe BV, Jury’s Inns, Whitbread Hotel division, a European portfolio of Holiday Inns, the Centre Parcs group, Thresher Wines, Voyager Pubs and Avebury Taverns. Tim has also advised on a large number of individual hotel company acquisitions.
Tim has led the outsourced internal audit function for Hilton Group, Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt Regency Casinos.
