Matt is a Chartered Accountant who until recently was the head of the Deloitte’s UK team in the International Core of Excellence (“ICE”) program in New York having been seconded there from our Real Estate, Hospitality & Leisure tax team in London.
Matt is a partner from our London office with 16 years experience in corporate tax, for most of which he has advised international clients. Matt has a wide spectrum of clients and, given his background, has continued to be particularly focused on the real estate hospitality & leisure sectors, advising on a number of complex cross border structures.
His experience in New York means that he will be particularly well placed to provide support to outbound investors from the US. Matt also has experience of working with members of the Marriott International tax team and has remained in contact with them while in the US.
Matt has extensive experience with projects investing in the UK but also across Europe, Asia and in many emerging markets such as Russia, India and China. He has also worked extensively in areas such as acquisition and disposal planning, sale and leasebacks and corporate structuring as well as tax compliance with hospitality groups such as Le Meridien Hotels and Marriott International.
