Graham Pickett

Graham PickettGraham is Practice Senior Partner of our South Region and has been a Deloitte Partner for twenty two years. Graham leads our National Industry Sector Group for Travel, Hospitality and Leisure (THL) as well as being the firm’s Global Leader for Travel and Aviation. Graham is also a member of the Aviation Club of the United Kingdom and spends the majority of his time in the Aviation and Travel Sector where he serves a number of key clients for the Deloitte UK firm.

His clients over the last five years have included: Bristow Helicopters, Inaer, British International, Bond Aviation, IAG/ British Airways, Flybe, TUI, BMI, Monarch Airlines, easyJet, Ryanair and Virgin Atlantic. On the airport side these include Gatwick Airport and Manchester Airports Group.

Graham is widely reported in the UK and International press as the firm’s spokesperson on Aviation and Travel matters. He is also extensively involved with regulation of the industry and works regularly with the CAA and other organisations such as ABTA.

Graham continues working on several important industry initiatives including finance and reporting issues concerning Revenue Recognition, maintenance and fixed assets accounting for aircraft (fixed wing as well as Helicopters) and lease finance for the industry.

Graham has extensive experience in the industry of IFRS/ US GAAP as well as UK GAAP accounting. As can be seen from Graham’s client list above he has considerable expertise within the Aviation and Airports sectors. Within his role as leader of the THL Executive he is regularly consulted on Aviation matters globally through the Deloitte network. This has involved project work overseas with Air France/KLM, Austrian Airways, TUI, VLM, Virgin Express, SAS, United Airlines and All Nippon.

Graham has also acted as an Expert witness for the UK Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) on a travel/ airline related activity involving a fraud case. More recently he has been involved with Private Equity on an investment in the world’s leading global pilot training group, Oxford Aviation.

He also has extensive experience in the IPO arena and in 2009 was been involved in a float of a large Aircraft lessor business based in the US, the UK and Ireland as well as the more recent flotation of Flybe.
