This is the 20th edition of the Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance. Here we provide a timeline capturing some of the significant events over the past 20 years that have shaped today’s football industry landscape in England.
Where were you in ’92?
Our first football finance report was produced in June 1992. It was somewhat slimmer than today’s edition and had the more mundane title of ‘Survey of significant accounting policies in football clubs’. Over the past 20 years we have documented clubs’ business and commercial performance, striving to provide the most comprehensive picture possible of English professional football’s finance, set within the context of the wider European game.
