Director, Sports Business Group
Alan is a Director in the Sports Business Group with over twelve years experience in the sports business industry. He has worked with a wide variety of governing bodies, clubs and other organisations from a broad range of sports.
Alan leads the Sports Business Group's horseracing and equestrianism assignments, hence has worked with many of Racing's key organisations. His work includes leading the production of the three Economic Impact of British Racing reports (the most recent published in June 2013), financial due diligence in over £300m of racecourse redevelopments including Ascot, Aintree and Cheltenham and support of the Racecourse Association and Great British Racing’s objective of widening the customer base of horseracing. He also works on sports betting assignments.
Alan also leads the Group’s motorsport work including commercial due diligence on MotoGP and financial due diligence and valuation of several Formula 1 teams.
Other recent work has included commercial due diligence on Supponor (who have developed market leading Digital Billboard Replacement technology) and supporting the Irish Rugby Football Union’s investigation of the feasibility of hosting the Rugby World Cup.
Alan is an author and the project manager of the Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance.
He is a keen racegoer and supports Liverpool.
