James joined the Sports Business Group as a Consultant in November 2012. Since joining the Group, James’s work has included an economic impact report, a feasibility study for the hosting of a major event and he has also assisted with the production of the Deloitte Football Money League.
Prior to joining Deloitte, James gained a professional qualification in tax before moving to the British Horseracing Authority, where his work included conducting statistical and financial analyses of British horseracing. In 2009, James took up a position at London 2012, with responsibility for managing a number of sport specific projects, most notably the compilation of the Competition Schedule for events across all 26 Olympic and 20 Paralympic sports.
In addition to being a keen follower of football, cricket and horseracing, James competes in athletics to a national level and finished in the top 40 of the 2011 London Marathon.
