John is a senior partner in our Real Estate team based in London. John is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. He graduated in Economics from Jesus College, Cambridge and has been a Partner since 1998.
He has specialised throughout his career in advising on the tax implications of UK and European real estate investment and development projects and frequently leads our teams advising on major transactions by international investors in the Real Estate sector. John works extensively with clients across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific including international fund managers, sovereign wealth funds and pension fund investors. John is Deloitte’s European Leader for tax services to Sovereign Wealth Funds.
John’s clients include Invesco Real Estate, Aberdeen Asset Management, Internos Real Investors and a number of sovereign wealth and global pension funds.
Recent projects include:
- Advising Invesco Real Estate on the acquisition of over €1.5 bn of real estate across 8 European countries.
- Advising a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund on a landmark London acquisition.
- Advising an Asia Pacific institutional investor on a £1bn UK real estate acquisition programme”.
