Matt is a Partner with 13 years experience in corporate tax specialising in providing tax advice in relation to real estate, or real estate backed transactions.
Matt has advised on a number of significant UK, European and Asian real estate transactions including acquisitions, refinancings (including complex securitisation opinions), exits and other restructuring projects.
Matt’s specific experience includes:
- Advising a market leading real estate private equity fund on transactions in over 20 European and Asian jurisdictions over the past 5 years covering hospitality, retail, office and real estate backed debt investments.
- Advising a large US REIT on real estate investments in over 30 European and Middle Eastern countries including advice on pan-European securitisations,
- Advising another leading RE PE firm on the exit from a pan European hotel investment in 7 jurisdictions involving the pre-disposal restructuring of a complex syndicated debt package.
- Advising a large sovereign wealth fund on the acquisition of a landmark UK department store,
