Deloitte comments on launch of National Infrastructure Plan Strategic Engagement Forum |

Commenting on the announcement by Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, on the launch of a new National Infrastructure Plan Strategic Engagement Forum, Nick Prior, head of infrastructure and capital projects at Deloitte, the business advisory firm, said:
“Given the importance of infrastructure to economic recovery, the launch of this new forum between Government and industry is certainly welcome.
“However, it is important that it has strong stakeholder buy-in, both from government and industry, so that it can be a bold and effective body, capable of making a real difference in the delivery of the National Infrastructure Plan. Otherwise there is the real risk of it being just a ‘talking shop’.
“To ensure this, item one on its agenda must be the clear definition of objectives to which all agree.”
