Policing collaboration

Identifying opportunities for regional collaboration in Yorkshire and the Humber

Police collaboration

Background

The four police authorities in Yorkshire and the Humber are leading the way in joint working. Deloitte were appointed in March 2010 to undertake a brief, eight week review, considering the feasibility of the regional strategy that was put in place, identify savings, and define a programme of activity to deliver the savings.

Key findings

The Deloitte approach was broad-minded, not working towards a pre-determined solution. As such we structured our work into 14 areas, across four core workstreams:

  1. Operational policing
  2. Customer confidence
  3. Support Services
  4. Infrastructure

The report proposed a series of ground-breaking recommendations and has received wide support from the Authorities and Forces.
