Background

The MoD is changing the way it engages with the defence industry. It has become more important to respond quickly to the needs of the armed forces, flexibly and with agility. This results in a requirement for closer and more demanding relationships with industry and new commercial structures. High-value, long-term contracts with industry must deliver the MoD’s capability and performance requirements within affordability constraints, and meet their partners’ need for an appropriate level of return for the risk managed.
