Background

The creation of Free Schools and sponsored Academies in England is a key part of Government’s school reform agenda. Authorising a wide range of organisations to receive state funding and run schools is a demanding task carrying high profile risks.

Deloitte has recently completed an assignment for the Department of Education designing and delivering a due diligence process which informed the Department’s decisions on whether to proceed with individual proposals for new Free Schools and sponsored Academies.
