Background
Over 10,000 of the highest dependency patients in London are placed with independent nursing care providers each year. Against a backdrop of reduced budgets, forecast increases in the cost of healthcare services and drive to improve the quality of care, London PCTs recognised the need to transform the way they commissioned these services.
Working in collaboration with the 31 PCTs, Deloitte developed and implemented a Collaborative Commissioning Programme consisting of a series of initiatives to address London’s challenges when commissioning Purchased healthcare.
