Background
Following the Spending Review, the business case for sustainability has never been stronger. The double hit of budget reduction and cost escalation sharpens the need to identify cost saving opportunities across the public sector.
Key findings
Public Sector Chief Finance Officers and other Government Finance Professionals are likely to have three roles around the Green Agenda:
- Collecting, assuring and reporting on carbon dioxide emissions;
- Reducing costs via optimal sustainability performance; and
- assisting with the design and implementation of partnerships and private finance solutions aiming to progress ‘spend to save’ schemes.
