Governance in Financial Services - Finding the winning formula (PDF)- Area: Financial Services
Background
In the wake of the financial crisis, robust governance has become one of the highest priorities for both regulators and financial services institutions. Achieving this without creating excessive bureaucracy or stifling innovation is a challenge and finding the right balance could help set a firm apart from the rest.
Key Findings
Our new paper addresses three key areas that organisations should consider in order to realise this balance:
- Creating a proactive and outcome-orientated approach;
- Establishing effective ownership and oversight of governance; and
- Ensuring that governance is simple yet robust.
For each of these areas, we pose a series of questions which firms can use to assess their current governance framework and identify areas for improvement.
