The Deloitte Public Sector team is one of the largest and most experienced providers of assurance, advisory and IT services to public sector clients in the UK. We have developed our knowledge and expertise through working with organisations across local, regional and central government, police, education health.

Our dedicated Northern team has deep expertise across each of these sectors and draws together experts from across our practice embracing the disciplines of consulting, corporate finance, tax and audit, including accounting, regulation and IT. Our client base includes North Yorkshire County Council, the Department of Health, Sheffield Hallam University and Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

	Local and Central Government Deloitte works with many Local and Central Government clients across Yorkshire and Humber ranging from Probation Trusts to large City or County Councils as well as Government Departments. We have deep insight into the issues faced by both local and central government organisations and the political environment in which they must operate. Our deep industry knowledge, experience and technical expertise across consulting, accounting, tax and corporate finance enable us to add value throughout the organisation and enable clients to meet the challenges facing the industry. We run a development programme for the ‘Senior Finance Leaders of the Future’ across Local Government and Police Authorities in Yorkshire and Humber.

	Police Deloitte supports the Police Service achieve its goals efficiently and cost effectively. Our broad experience includes regional collaboration between Yorkshire and Humber police forces, supporting the Metropolitan Police Service’s property strategy and designing a new policing operating model in Scotland. We have also evaluated police workforce modernisation for the Home Office and maintain strong internal relationships with authorities.

	Education Deloitte has a dedicated Education and Skills team, attracting resources and talent from across the education sector, including Schools, Further Education, Higher Education and government departments. We work with a number of the providers of education across Yorkshire and Humber, including the University of Leeds and Leeds Trinity University College. Deloitte's strategic and operational expertise has been deployed across the education system on projects ranging across: policy development and implementation; PSA target achievement; operational implementation of policy in the provider base; strategic options for providers; tax advice; VAT on capital projects; and private sector education delivery.

	Health Deloitte is one of the largest and experienced suppliers of professional services to NHS organisations across the UK, transforming health organisations using a specialist multi-disciplinary approach. We have worked extensively with NHS Yorkshire and the Humber and the majority of NHS organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber patch on a range of projects including: cost reduction and CIP implementation, vertical integration of community services and advising on major capital developments, including PFI. Our team have a combination of deep health sector experience, strong commercial acumen and market-leading expertise across a range of financial and non financial disciplines including: dedicated quality governance specialists, who have played a key role in development of the Monitor Quality Governance Framework; real estate and asset valuation experts who have advised on estate issues across the NHS; NHS VAT specialists, who support clients in identifying tax efficient opportunities; and data management specialists who have developed a number of offerings for NHS clients, such as tests of data integrity with respect to PbR clinical coding.
