Background
Reductions in local authority funding together with structural changes within the NHS will place increasing pressure on the care home sector. Forthcoming structural changes in the NHS (bringing the NHS and Local Authorities (“LA’s”) closer together) and a fundamental shift in the nature and funding of long term care provision, are likely to exacerbate the financial difficulties already facing the sector. This presentation examines the key themes and updates in the healthcare and social care markets, along with an outlook on long term care in this sector.
