Between 2002 and 2005, Deloitte was the National Portrait Gallery's Contemporary Photography Displays Partner. This three year sponsorship aimed to showcase a high quality, innovative and contemporary part of the art world and create a lasting impact through a series of joint initiatives.
Among the joint ventures undertaken by Deloitte and the National Portrait Gallery was the Deloitte Award for the best portrait taken by a photographer aged 25 or under, demonstrating Deloitte’s commitment to engaging young people in the arts. Deloitte also set up an Acquisition Fund for the NPG, which enabled the Gallery to purchase and commission photographic portraits of figures from business and public life.
People are at the heart of Deloitte and the Deloitte brand, so supporting portraiture at the Gallery was a perfect fit. Our people benefitted hugely over the three year sponsorship, with opportunities to attend private priority viewings of major new exhibitions at the Gallery and go to special events, including Directors' Seminars, Gallery talks and workshops for employees and clients.
