Deloitte Ignite 2011

Festival dates: Friday 2 - Sunday 4 September 2011

Deloitte Ignite, the award-winning contemporary arts festival returned to the Royal Opera House from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September 2011 and proved to be an outstanding success, receiving wide-reaching and fresh acclaim across numerous media channels.

Curated by internationally renowned film director Mike Figgis, the 2011 festival titled 'Just Tell the Truth', featured film, fashion, art, dance, music and politics examining the concept of truth through video interviews, live talks, installations and performances. The festival featured appearances from Jon Snow, Peter Blake, Matthew Herbert, John Berger, Marina Abramovic, David Lynch and Paul Auster.
The theme used different art forms to question and challenge what art is about and its role in modern day society. As well as installations across the spaces of the ROH, there were also evening events on the Friday and Saturday.

"I was fascinated by the amount that had been packed into the festival, with some of the most prominent names in music, dance, art and fashion." - Deloitte Ignite volunteer

Deloitte Ignite 2011 welcomed 9,000 visitors during the festival weekend of which 700 were Deloitte employees and friends/family with 24 Deloitte people volunteering as ushers.

Our collaboration with the Royal Opera House on Deloitte Ignite 2011 was recognised as a leading example of an arts partnership, scooping us a Crème de la Crème Business Award for Outstanding Business Achievement and the prestigious Hollis Sponsorship Award for Best Arts Sponsorship.

"Deloitte’s five-year partnership with The Royal Opera House is an excellent demonstration of how the arts continue to evolve as an effective sponsorship platform. The programme reaches out to diverse audiences and widens access to the arts. It has secured great coverage and developed a reputation for innovation, creative thinking and promoting emerging talent." - Rosemary Sarginson, Hollis Awards organiser
