In addition to our own Social Innovation Pioneers initiative we are also supporting Business in the Community’s arc project, Big Society Network’s Nexters programme and London business School, Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. These initiatives are an important part of helping develop and foster social innovation and we are delighted to be supporters of these important programmes:
Backed by foundations, philanthropists, businesses and social investors, the programme provides finance, mentoring and business development support for entrepreneurs who are building scalable, high impact, sustainable businesses. Deloitte has provided Nexters with skills workshops delivered by our Strategy team and the opportunity to practice pitching to a panel of Deloitte senior partners as well as direct mentoring and supply chain opportunities. Other partners of the Nexters programme include NESTA, the Bulldog Trust and UnLtd.
BITC arc is a new campaign to create a lasting social legacy for the Olympic host boroughs by stimulating the creation and growth of financially sustainable social enterprises – enabling them to provide employment opportunities for 1,000 local people. Deloitte and BP, both official partners of the Games have joined SocialEnterpriseUK and BITC as founding partners of the programme.
David Sproul, Chief Executive and Senior Partner at Deloitte attended the launch of BITC arc:
“The pioneering spirit of entrepreneurs and innovators has a direct ability to help build a better society, enhancing the quality of human lives. Social enterprise epitomises that connection, and we should do all we can to help it succeed.”
The announcement of the firm’s support for the Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship provides additional opportunities to Pioneer organisations, including hosting events, research projects on key issues and sharing of skills and expertise.
