Employability skills
The Deloitte Employability Initiative is our flagship skills and education programme. Deloitte has invested £2m since 2001 on a programme that aims to develop the skills of young people so that they are qualified and work-ready. The learners that qualify attain a Level 2 BTEC WorkSkills qualification and combined with the business and personal skills acquired, they substantially enhance their employability.
The Deloitte Foundation is funding the training of up to 800 college staff to become Deloitte Employability Trainers, providing them with the skills to deliver employability skills training to students.
To date over 500 college teachers from over 100 FE Colleges have been trained and over 15,000 students have completed this highly successful programme.
The Deloitte Employability Initiative is about to enter an exciting new phase, as it joins in collaboration with Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body. The collaboration will enable employability to be delivered to a wider audience, at different levels and to support specialist teacher training.
