European Powers of Construction

The European Powers of Construction study (EPoC) is concerned with the performance of construction companies. It includes a ranking of the largest companies, professional articles on the development in the construction sector, investment opportunities as part of infrastructure on developing markets, key risks published in financial statements, and the construction industry and the environment.

    Despite the continuous economic recession in the EU, which has had a major impact on the development of the construction industry for five years, the European powers of construction (EPoC) succeeded in increasing their total revenues by 7% in 2012, achieving EUR 335.5 billion.

    In the ninth issue of the EPoC publication, Deloitte scrutinised the development of the most important European construction groups during 2011 in terms of revenue, market capitalisation, internationalisation, diversification and indebtedness.
  • European Powers of Construction 2010

    Published 2011

    The leading European construction companies are gradually recovering from the economic recession that affected them three years ago through the diversification of their geographic operations and their activities. This diversification is a direct result of the decrease in investments in the building sector in the European Union by 3.6 % that occurred in 2010 after several years of little or no growth.
