Kentico software is Czech Republic's fastest growing technology company |
Prague, 19 October 2010 – With revenue growth of 1,781%, Kentico software became the fastest growing technology company in the Czech Republic and placed fourth in the latest Technology Fast 50 ranking in Central Europe, the annual survey prepared by Deloitte.

The ranking is based on the percentage of revenue growth over the five-year period of 2005 to 2009 and includes companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

As in the previous year, the Polish Internet operator Netmedia is the fastest growing company in Central and South East Europe, with revenue growth of 15,005% over the five-year period. This year, the average revenue growth of Technology Fast 50 companies grew from 933% to 967% and there were 16 new companies in the ranking.

Sound leadership and a clear executive vision will be important in this critical post-crisis period as the sector emerges from the worst," pointed out Dariusz Nachyla, Managing Partner for the Technology, Media and Telecommunications industry group in Deloitte Central Europe.
KIT Digital, the second fastest growing Czech firm, achieved revenue growth of 616% and closes out the top twenty firms. In aggregate, the Technology Fast 50 ranking comprises eight Czech companies, which, in addition to KIT Digital and Kentico software, include INSIA, Logio, DATASYS, Trask solutions, FOR INTERNET, and StringData.
Czech Internet firms achieved very good results in the accompanying Rising Stars ranking, which includes companies that have been in operation for less than five years. First place in the Rising Stars ranking was taken by LiveSport, while second place went to Internet Shop.
Commenting on the results, Martin Hájek, the Statutory Executive of LiveSport, said, "Our place in the competition shows that fast growth can be achieved while maintaining a high level of productivity. Our well-coordinated team of only 15 people continues to render services to the now 10 million users of our web pages. Even small firms can be large players if they sufficiently use the combination of human potential and modern technologies".
The Czech software company e-invent was fifth among the top Rising Stars. In another accompanying ranking of large technology companies, KIT Digital took second place.
Companies that want to qualify for the Fast 50 ranking must meet several criteria, such as annual revenues of at least EUR 50,000 each year in the five-year period, headquarters in a Central European country, involvement in the development or production of their own technologies, or substantial investment in research and development. The firms in the Technology Fast 50 Central Europe ranking are automatically included in the super-regional Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA competition, which includes Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
